Complete Auto Diagnostics

Is your check engine, ABS, or airbag light on? Bring your vehicle to Rob's Complete Auto Repair. We'll perform complete diagnostics and find out where the problem is. Trust us to provide honest estimates and quality repairs.

A vehicle's engine control unit will check:

  • Airbags
  • Turning signals
  • Courtesy lights for consistency and functionality
  • Temperature of your oil and other important readouts

The engine control unit of newer and more sophisticated vehicles may have up to 80 functions. Our complete diagnostics will help figure out the underlying problem in any of the components.

Our diagnostic tools will provide readouts for a car tune-up. This will help return your car to its original factory standards. We'll also check the safety systems. Our goal is to ensure that your vehicle is running at maximum its performance.

Your Car's Engine Control Unit Controls

  • Variable valve timing - There are certain valves in some vehicles that are meant to open and close at a specific time to ensure the optimum economy and power of your engine.
  • Fuel pressure modifier - If your fuel pressure is abnormally low, this will help increase fuel injection fire time.
  • Idle speed - While your vehicle is at rest, this is a measurement of its engine’s revolutions per minute (RPM). Full authority throttle control, cruise control, and top speed limitations are controlled by this system.
  • Water temperature correction - If your engine is cold, this will add a bit of fuel into it too warm it up a little faster. This is to ensure that your car gets to its normal operating temperature soon.
  • Fuel mixture - A carefully measured level of fuel and oxygen required for combustion in fuel-injected vehicles. Without the proper mixture, your car may run too hot or too cold and also suffer in terms of fuel economy.
  • Ignition timing - This is to ensure that your spark plugs are firing at the right time. Misfiring of the spark plugs will cause the engine to misfire. This eventually leads to a knocking or pinging sound in your engine.
